I'm Aksing You

I've poured over volumes of love poems
By Shelley and Keats and Millay
To try to discover a way to break you down
But you seem impervious, Darling, to the classical verse I purvey
So I've composed a naive roundelay
Which I shall perforce, perform, come what may
Now please don't frown

Won't you find it in your heart to reveal
Exactly just the way that you feel
Could you love me too as I love you
I'm aksing you. Tell me

All those endless nights I've yearned for you so
If you'd be mine, I'd never let you go
I've just got to know, so whisper low
I'm aksing you. Tell me

Why won't you rip off your maks
And let me baks in the warmth of your glance
Bringing you joy is my taks
Can't we quaff from the flaks of romance?

Now I've aksed you once, I'm aksing you again
I'll keep aksing 'til that magic moment when
We two shall be as one
But until that's done
Irregardless
It's ekspecially apropos
So if you really want to know
Do I love you?
Don't aks.
